PIXL VIRTUAL STUDIOS AT JOHN HENRYS

ROLE:           MCR Network Design and Commissioning / Show Engineering 

Initially responding to Covid-19 pandemic shutting live events down, Pixl and John Henry's collaboration in making an online event broadcast space is still being heavily utilised 18 months after its initial "temporary" installation. 

The network is designed to provide a robust broadcast solution, with a 1 Gbps FTTP backed up with a 1 Gbps Microwave PTP link as well as the studios existing 100 Mbps FTTC line providing diverse connectivity to the internet, whilst show critical web traffic is further backed up with a PepVPN ensuring seamless failover between connections. 

The LAN provides connectivity for equipment in the MCR for Audio, video, remote comms and NAS for content storage, as well as general connectivity for clients and visitors. Remote contribution is made easy with Quicklink or SRT capabilities permanently rigged. Confidence in the health of the network as a whole is provided via Zabbix monitoring.
